he rural community of "San Sebastian of Shismay" welcomes you to this unforgettable experience, where you will participate in the day to day life of our community, as part of an integrated volunteering programme. In addition to spending a marvellous holiday and staying in the comforts of Casa Hacienda Shismay, you will enjoy the beauty of the landscape, the changing skies and the unique lyricism of the Andean nights. Shismay is in need of volunteers who believe in equality and are motivated to promoting the economic, social and cultural development of our community, thus helping us to overcome poverty. Members of our rural community will offer the volunteers the opportunity to learn about our culture through cultural exchange.

Volunteers arrive at Shismay through a co-operation agreement with Nexos Voluntarios (NeVo), a Peruvian based non-profit organization which provides opportunities for caring individuals (students or professionals) to make a significant contribution to the development of Peru's poorest communities. NeVo offers placements in projects in Shismay related to health, education, alternative tourism and small business management.

At the same time Shismay offers volunteers a secure, comfortable and organized placement where their efforts will not be wasted.
